Fact: Loverboy had been rejected by all the major record labels in the United States when Columbia Records of Canada gave them a chance. Their first album made its American debut in November 1980, and went on to sell two million copies.

Fact: Their 1968 song Born To Be Wild has been dubbed the first heavy metal song. The song’s lyrics “heavy metal thunder,” are the first use of this term in rock music.
