Hey Tosh! You Call That an Overpriced Concert Tee!?

September 26, 2012 by Jimmy J · Leave a Comment

I just caught the season premiere of Tosh.0 where he announced his wardrobe theme for the entire season: Overpriced Concert Tees. Yes! But the Japandroids t-shirt he wore in the episode can be found for $15; so either Tosh is really cheap or he got ripped off at a concert by a bootlegger.

Tosh’s torso needs a vintage tee. Our uber-rare $13,000 vintage RUN DMC Adidas tee (below) and the other exorbitantly priced relics for sale in our marketplace definitely fit the bill.

If $15 was too rich for his blood – $13k is likely out of the question. So I propose an arm wrestling match for it. If he wins, it’s his. If I win, he has to pony up. If that challenge scares him we’ll gladly orchestrate lending it to him. Heck, once we get the t-shirt back it will be worth even more with Tosh DNA on it (armpit only please.)

We need your help to get his attention! Click the button to Tweet our offer to Tosh.

Babes in Vintage Band Tees

April 23, 2012 by Jimmy J · 1 Comment

Big props to all the ladies above for saying no to repro by teecycling. They’re all sporting genuine vintage band t-shirts – not modern day unnecessarily reproduced tees by trendy brands featured in shopping malls. How do we know? Cuz we’re vintage t-shirt geeks.

So tell us, who’s the girl and who’s the group?

Tony Stark: In Heavy Metal and Into Heavy Metal

February 6, 2012 by Jimmy J · 1 Comment

Of course Stark’s favorite music is Heavy Metal, what did you expect, soft rock? This is a screen grab from The Avengers Super Bowl trailer which has us pondering if the rebel billionaire prefers true vintage. He should, just out of respect for fallen vintage tee aficionado DJ AM who made a cameo in the Iron Man sequel. And with Academy Award winning costume designer Alexandra Bryne behind the scenes we should expect nothing less given she’s no stranger to vintage.

However – Downey himself has been spotted in both true and repro vintage. His lame “Worn Free” tee failed to impress us but he gets full points for sporting an original Van Halen jersey. He’s got the perfect build to rock the real deal so it’s ridiculous that Robert would ever choose repros, right?

The cut on this tee definitely looks vintage – but was the 1970s original as printed with gold ink? Or is this a commissioned repro – customized with gold for Iron Man armor continuity and to make it more subtle so it doesn’t steal the scene? Cast your vote below!
