Year: Late 1970s
Circulation: Ãœber-rare.
You either love Abba or you hate them. And if you hate them, you’re lying because you’re a music snob. In the karaoke bar of your subconscious Abba’s Greatest Hits is on repeat and you’re humming every minute of it. Abba was able to construct a smash-hit with about as much ease as putting together Ikea furniture on a Sunday afternoon. Hit-after-hit, hook-after-hook, even artists of today who rely heavily on computers can’t duplicate their uncanny hit parade. I wonder though, who is the largest selling group in the history of music that wasn’t recorded?

Item #5: Ray Parker Jr. Jersey

Year: 1982
Circulation: Others may exist, but so might ghosts.
If you’re looking to out vintage those wearing run-of-the-mill Ghostbusters swag, this relic pre-dates Ghostbusters by two years. Yes, Ray had a career well before bustin’ made him feel good. In the 1970s he played along side Barry White and went on to work with Rufus and Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Herbie Hancock, Diana Ross and many others. By the time Ghostbusters rolled around he had already released two albums as well as a Greatest Hits album. Need I say more?

Item #4: Spandau Ballet T-Shirt

Tour: Over North America
Year: 1983
Circulation: Rare. It’s TRUE.
Ahhhh the romantical sounds of Spandau Ballet. I don’t know what makes me cry more: their songs or the thought of letting this shirt go. This UK band took the spotlight in 1983 with their album and single True and followed up with another hit album in 1984. But by the end of the decade their popularity had dwindled, two band members were distracted by serious acting careers and the band parted ways. Yet it wasn’t long before Spandau’s brilliance was rediscovered by P.M. Dawn who sampled True in their 1991 track Set a Drift on Memory Bliss.
