Extra, Extra – B-Sharps sing on rooftop! Just a quick note that Wyco released 36 gems to auction, well worth checking out. A handful of them are from the 70s and there’s everything from disco to metal, unfortunately Wyco continues lack in the Country genre.

And a note to other sellers, we know you’re out there! Please notify us should you be hosting a sale, or having a special set of auctions and we’ll do our best to plug it for our readers. We’re nearing 20k visitors monthly, so please keep us informed.

Teecycle is a wonderful internet based used t-shirt vendor that donates a portion of every sale to help restore rivers and trails. In a completely unfair twist-of-fate the home of Tim & Jess Cigelske, their 12-week old baby Clara and Bella the beagle was hit with a flood. Their dwelling and Teecycle headquarters is now unlivable and to make matters worse their insurance company doesn’t feel obligated to help. You can read about the whole sad situation here.

The community is rallying in support of the Teecycle crew with a website that surfaced just days ago called SaveTeecycle.org. It’s a hub for all the information you need and how you can help. You can purchase tees, donate t-shirts or money or just help spread the word. Amazingly none of TeeCycle’s inventory was effected by the flood water because of a sloping foundation.

Let’s help a brother in (sleeveless) arms out.

Sadly, one of the godfathers of vintage t-shirts on eBay has just announced they’re shutting down. Somebody please hold me. VV was my main inspiration for jumping in to the eBay vintage t-shirt world in 2004. I was in awe at the prices their auctions fetched for non-band tees that were attainable at my local thrift shop. Better yet, every aspect of their online presence exuded the good times they were having while “working”. I just have to do this, it’s so simple!…thought I.

Yeah right.

Their customized auction templates were the bomb at the time (so was the expression “the bomb”) and each one brought a sense of humor to eBay that I had never seen before. Ridiculous props and poses that’s what VV was all about. Their pioneering practices have been passed down to every new generation of eBay’s vintage vendors, so Vintage Vantage, we officially salute you.

As for their merch, they’re hosting an everything must go half-price discount on all their in-house designs. But I’m sure you’re more interested in the goings on with their true vintage top shelf shirts…we’ve emailed them as to their fate, so stay tuned. Who knows maybe you’ll be able to score that legendary My Adidas RUN DMC tee for half price?

Here’s a tear jerking flashback of VV’s evolution on the web.

Good luck VV crew. Fresh for ever.

We just got wind of some massive vintage t-shirts sales being hosted by three eBay heavyweights:

1. Wyco_Vintage is offering 20% off every fixed price item, which is basically 1000 t-shirts. They also released 30 vintage gems to auction that begin at 99 cents.

2. Stormcrow-Vintage is offering 10-20% off on 170 vintage tees.

3. Vintage Retro Wear is knocking 20% off your entire order. PLUS free shipping if you order 5 or more items (if you reside in the U.S. If you reside elsewhere, same deal, but shipping is 50% off) This deal is exclusive to customers on their mailing list and our readers so the sale doesn’t appear on their listings. Use the code “BOBO” after you make your purchase and your invoice will be adjusted accordingly.

That’s serious savings on well over 3000 shirts….

Good ol’ Wyco has a swell line-up of 45 auctions on the block right now which are ending tomorrow. Prices are still surprisingly low, so there’s plenty of opportunity to snag a deal or two.

Bidding tip #23 – Never assume a shirt is beyond your reach. Always throw in your max bid, even if you believe the final price will be way more than what you’re prepared to pay. What’s the harm? You can’t win a prize unless you buy a ticket and in this case that ticket (bid) is free. Bidders tend to back away from items they believe will sky rocket which occasionally means a huge score for someone with a low bid.

We first picked up on this news a few weeks ago when a death hoax circulated around the web fueled by facts about his illness. Sadly it’s now true. Ronnie James Dio passed away yesterday morning after a long battle with stomach cancer. Yet his spirit as one of metal’s most powerful singers is immortal. A frontman for Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and his own legendary metal outfit Dio. At the time of death he was on hiatus with Heaven & Hell, a band made up of the same Sabbath members responsible for the 1980 Heaven and Hell album. It’s widely considered to be a metal masterpiece.

Oh, and the devils horns used by metal heads across the globe? Ronnie popularized them.
