Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtwow incredible!!!! i havent seen champion 30's t-shirt......just jacket thing....
plus ORANGE is rare color for that time isnt it?
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtYup. I think the only reason that it was orange was for the Princeton Tigers crew team otherwise it would have likely been white with a single color print.
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtoh...interesting fact.
last bidder is japanese? if so, i can see it on the web soon.
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtThanks for the links! Not sure about that last bidder. I have my doubts that a japanese would go so nuts over a piece of Princeton memorabilia. Regardless of the rarity of a Champion shirt from that era in that color.
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtThere is a whole cult of traditionalist/ preppy clothing and Ivy League fandom in Japan
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtivy league.....i cant tell what university is ivy league or not. but vintage fandom including me love vintage ink-in college tees.
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtGoogle "take ivy" - a book that was produced in 1965 in Japan and has since been reprinted. There seems to be a tremendous upsurge in interest in classic American traditional fashion in Japan over the past couple of years. Good things!
Re: 1930s Champion Runner T-shirtI found a champion blue bar tee for some Japanese University a few months back. I wonder how well those ones do.
As for the Ivies, I've seen that old cornell stuff on ebay that didn't do so well, the craze seems to be more for the upper ivies.
