1976 Sneakers Brand Rayon Tri-Blend? Huh?

Tue Sep 05, 2017 11:31 pm

I was under the impression that rayon and tri-blends were a thing of the mid 80s to the mid 90s. Especially from the Sneakers brand.

Does the date/tag line up on this shirt?

PS: It's from veitnam and they are selling multiple tri-blends that look legit this one just had me scratching my head...

NINJA EDIT: They also have two for sale which is odd.

A while back I noticed a Thai operation that was reproducing a number of old tags - Sneakers Tri-blend was one of them. Can you please link to the listing?

It's odd. Most of their sales are seemingly legit Vietnam War memorabilia. They have a few shirts. The Camel cigs ones seem legit but it's so hard to tell.

But what originally got me scratching my head was this ACDC tri-blend that looks almost brand new (the screen at least). This album came out in 1990 so the date at least lines up with the tag.

I originally read about fake Vietnamese white Screen Stars tags on Defunkd and that's why I came here to check on the Sneakers tags possibly being fakes.

I did an RN check on the ACDC tag and Delta Apparel Inc came up...odd.

I'd be wary of it because if you look at all of their clothing items they have listed, they are all gray Sneakers tri-blends and all size medium 38-40, with different random prints. Just my observation/thoughts.

That and the fact that there are 2 or more of each for sale...super suspect.

Probably not going to risk it.
