70s Snoopy T-shirts?

Post by CRAZYBUBBA »

Has anyone ever handled a snoopy t-shirt older than the 80s? I've recently found a snoopy-woodstock tee with a vintage feel and a 60s snoopy on it.

No tag, and no "1956, 1965" copyright like the typical 80s tees. Is it possible that this is from the 70s?

Probably!

Look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0603420270" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Theres at least 25 listings from the past 90 days of vtg snoopy shirts that sold for $29 and up, the top one being the one above. And all this time i've been turning my nose up at snoopy t-shirts :oops:

could be....the woodstock character came to be in the 70s and he kinda looks different than how he does today...like the simpsons did on tracy ulman.

Wow, that's really cool. Thanks guys.

I've actually always been a fan of Snoopy tees because it's really easy to get them in a good print/size cheaply. I wonder why the santa rosa one went for so much.

I've never learned how to determine age by looking at the stitching on t-shirts. Any tips?

The fabric feels like any typical poly-cotton tee. The image is screen printed. It's not sheer and there's no copyright nor indication of what tag may have been on the garment.

stitch: i mean not fabric. look at the hem stitching.(hem stitching makes sense? im not native english speaker. just silly japanese.)
its single? or double? and it looks that tee has different color(black) on around neck and shoulder. i heard that difference has something that gives clues.

Your English is fine. I had just mentioned the fabric in case it's relevant in helping date the garment. I'll check the stitching tomorrow and let you know.

What does double stitching vs single stitching mean with regards to age?

Not sure if it applies to t-shirts but...jeans, Levi's big E the single stitch is always a selling point.

Looks like a shitty bootleg.
IF it is the real deal, I would guess that shirt is from the Bicentennial Year of 1976 based on Snoopy's patriotic garb. Just a guess.
