sup wit dat?

Post by waxandthreads »

um... what exactly happened here?
Bidding war jacked it up, looks like a non-payer, relisted. Sold for considerably less second time, but still sky-high. I know this style is hot right now, but twice in a row going for triple digits?

Seriously!?! I'm sure I handle a few like this every month, I had no idea that they were anywhere near this valuable.

Could this be a small time money laundering operation?
Have vintage Elvis tees? Let me know!

I can't see where the value is beyond it being a cool graphic and an early 80's label.

$30 market value at the most.

I've seen this happen before. Two newbie, low feedback eBayer's making a joke out of bidding.

Seems like a lot of sneaky bidding going on on the Bay. I do remember back in 2004ish those simple tourist Hawaiian prints did really well...but not that well.

I'm always suspicious when I see a (0) feedback eBayer placing bids in the hundreds of dollars. In fact I've discontinued bidding on a few items over the years when I see a zero feedbacker jump in the mix.

That's crazy high, but ask any Malaysian, if you have a Poly Tees on a SunStrokes tee with a nice Hawaiian design, it will easily get into triple digits. They have to be just right, though. Not a Poly Tees print on a Poly Tees shirt.

My 2 cents, something is wrong here. This shirt is not that nice, although it is cool! When something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
