Harley Shirt

Post by ShirtSounds »

This one has the actual Harley Tag, so I'm thinking it might be newer; however the tag is very faded and it is a 50/50 and very soft and thin. It's got some cracking, some pinholes, and a small hole on the back. Weird size, too: 20 across and 24 top-to-bottom. I'm more curious as to whether it's older or not.

Great find!

Judging from the overall distress and the 3-D graphics I'd say late 80's but I can't be sure without seeing a better photo of the tag. Probably somewhere around 1986-1989. Also 20" x 24" is actually pretty normal for an 80's 50/50 Large.

Estimated value: $50-$75 Could go higher.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to get a tag picture after work today, but not sure how well it will show up. It's pretty faded; I can make out that it is a Harley tag and it says 3D Emblem (can't see the size) and on the back I can see the 50/50.

It looks comparable to this one (that didn't sell at $125) in terms of size, color, material, etc...

From your more detailed description of the tag I'd say it's definitely 80's. Value on the Harley tees is kind of tricky. $125 is probably a little too high for the average customer.

I'm not too familiar with Harley shirts (I've only sold one before), so I've been researching for the last couple of days...

What is so special about the 1980s 3D Emblem shirts with the cartoon hog? They aren't even that cool-looking, yet they go for between $100-$200 regularly.

I saw those too. Hard to say to exactly why those few 3D's went for so much. Harley collectors are pretty hardcore. Kinda like Iron Maiden collectors. Anything original and in good condition is going to attract high bidding.

It's hard to tell without seeing it up close, but it looks like there is not a 3D Emblem logo with a copyright date printed on the front with the design? That would hurt for the 3D Emblem collectors.

No, no copyright date. Like I said, it looks to be the same as the one in that link I posted. I've got it up on E Bay for $30 and it has a bunch of views, but no watchers. We shall see.
