Harley Davidson

Post by JTandTees »

I got a question. What year did Harley Davidson start putting out shirts with there name on the tag?

The reason I ask is I found a Harley shirt that has a 1978 copyright on it and a harley davidson tag which seems really early to have one.

The ones most commonly seen started coming out in the early 90's. I have seen pics of Harley Davidson tags with a different design that are earlier though.

If it looks like this it should be 90's.

Looks 90's to me. A lot of the time 80's and 90's Harley shirts will have a front design that is younger than the back design. That's because the back design is specific to the dealer, and it usually tends to be older. They just keep using the same old design on newer shirts. That's why the copyright is from the 70's. I've acutally had a few 90's shirts with that same exact back design.

Beefy-T's have been around for a while but the tag is newer.

BTW just because it's probably from the 90's doesn't mean it's worthless. If Harley fans are willing to pay like almost 30 bucks for a brand new shirt at a shop then some would probably be willing to spend half that on an older one that is in good condition.
