Japanese Ebay Bidders With Private Feedback

I have 3-4 of them bidding on an Ebay item of mine. Is private feedback more popular in Japan or are these guys hiding their purchasing history because they're bidding with the intent of resale?

That makes sense, I'm surprised that more people don't do that. I saw that koshercollectibles picked up a lot of two 70s drag racing tees on ebay for $10. It would be terrible to have that purchase in your feedback while you're reselling the item.

It can be done. Now the new "eBay Bucks" program makes the practice more lucrative especially for those who buy and sell high priced items on eBay. The earned eBay bucks offset the final value fees paid a bit.

By the way, when are you gonna auction off that old CHAMPION RUNNER tag

I'm surprised that people are willing to trust me and bid so high for a tee w/out a label. I may never understand this crazy world of vintage resale.

It's standard practice in our industry to make picture books of vintage styles/pieces for your pickers but I've found that labels are immensely useful as well. The tag isn't going anywhere for a long, long time. I may even keep the collection when I retire.

90% of all the specialized vintage t-shirt stores on eBay do most of their buying on eBay with secondary private accounts. I did it. It's the way it has to be done, once you associate your account with rock tees. I realized they were a needle in a haystack at warehouses. Unfortunately there's no rag houses that contain all rock tees. I would spend hours at multiple locations ones and be lucky if I found one rock tee.

Rainbowgasoline's huge inventory is the result of massive eBay buying and reselling, it's the nature of the biz.

Kosher has some amazing stuff, but the whole speal about the stuff coming from his 20 year old personal collection, I find that to be a misleading way to present your items. After 1500 transactions it's time to admit you're a dealer..not a collector who is doing spring cleaning for two years straight.

I don't think I could do it that way. I need to get out, buy a coffee, visit the flea market, warehouse, estate sales, and thrift stores, get my exercise and networking done, all the while enjoying the lovely LA weather. So dull searching on eBay!

I agree, for me half the fun of vintage is "digging" for gems. The other half is researching the provenance of the items.

KC's buying history is fascinating. They really should get a private account, however it wouldn't make their stuff any less awesome.

Pretty funny, but pretty smart as well.

I don't know how Rainbow Gasoline does it. That business model seems pretty tough.

The business model of thrifting has a lot of wasted time built in, but I like the whole experience of going into the unknown and finding treasures in the stuff other people considered worthless. The thrill is in the hunt! It's such a great feeling to sift a thrift and stumble upon a great find. I always say, :Fuuuuuuuck yeah!" or "You're mine!" or "get in my belly!"
I love that feeling.
