Re: Help dating this Ralph Lauren tag?

That's pre-NAFTA implementation, likely pre-1996. Hard to date unless you're a Polo/Lauren guru. Just looking at the tag, I'd say early 90's. The tag hasn't changed much since the 80's.

Re: When did double tags emerge?

I come across those tags from time to time. I always assumed they were mid-late 90's. They don't look like a late 80's (or 1990)design, especially with it being pre-NAFTA "Made in El Savador". I need to go through some old shirts & look for these tags.

Re: Nirvana 93 In Utero Poor Condition, Cutoff Sleeves

Delta tags date to the early-mid 90's. This is from an early/mid-90's (probably pre-NAFTA) shirt I own. Notice the "made in USA" tag... https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8658/16060560352_3cd5a5b2c4_b.jpg https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8658/16060560352_3cd5a5b2c4_b.jpg Check your tag. If it sa...

Re: whats it worth for 80's madonna, GNR, Krokus, Tokyo Kid Brot

If selling the Krokus sleeveless, be sure to put "80's Muscle shirt", or just "muscle shirt" in description. I've had success with that term (though the only weights most Krokus fans I went to school with lifted were 12 oz at a time).

Re: “and the jets” tee... Elton John? NY Jets? Winnipeg Jets?

I'd say some funny guy named Bennie had it custom made for some event, and wore it proudly. He was likely a big Elton John fan and he loved that particular song. In fact, after said event, he went home that night with a cute woman named Lola who was wearing a t-shirt that read "I DON'T walk lik...

Re: Selling in Bulk

Vintage blanks are popular with vintage-shirt bootleggers, who'll then relist their bogus "vintage" stuff for a $300 or more. You'll probably make more selling them individually. Though this rayon blend Russell shirt lot of 6 went for $142... http://www.ebay.com/itm/80s-NOS-Blank-T-Shirt-L...

Re: Screen Stars, Polo Sport, Schlitz - Recent Finds

The Schlitz shirt looks like it's a tri blend with rayon. While the rayon fad may have tapered, many people love the look and feel of them. They're some of my favorite fitting shirts. Like Jimmy says I'd start it with a high price & sit on it. Make sure you open bidding to worldwide bidders. The...

Re: The Rolling Stones 1981 Tour Shirt

Obviously a recent shirt. I missed the El Salvador on the tag. I've never seen a Merch tag, but El Salvador is a dead giveaway. The only thing they were making in El Salvador in 1981 were violent military coups & insurrections.

Dacron was licensed by DuPont, while Eastman Chemical came out with the competing Kodel brand in 1958.

Re: The Rolling Stones 1981 Tour Shirt

Hard to be certain, but I'd assume without the copyright tag that it's an old bootleg. However, the XS size may be a bigger detriment to selling it.
