Hello!
New here & in need of some input on this 1950's cotton t-shirt. I believe its an image of the controversial Indian mascot for Stanford University, Prince Lightfoot. I think its from the 1952 Rosebowl game where Stanford University played Illinois University.

It does not have a tag, there is some staining, no holes.

Can anyone offer any further information?

Also I need to know a good price point for this, I have several people interested but I am out of my league here!

Thank you.

From my quick search I think you're right. And tee looks to be 50s era. How did you tie it to that particular game?

Value wise I dont know. Indian head imagery is always sought after on tees. But this is cartoony - so not sure the same audience would want it. And yes...controversial. You need a fan of the team or a collector who is into 50s era americana stuff...maybe someone from Japan would pay most. What offers have you received so far? I see a lot of 50s era tees go for $200 to $500.

Thanks for the reply JimmyJ. I tied it to that game because it is an image of the Stanford Mascot but with the wording of Illinois. I was thinking it was a rival type of shirt, was not sure why else it would be that image with Illinois wording. I had an offer of $50 and one for $60. I sell mainly 70's so I had no idea where to start with a counter offer.
