The horror (or not?) of non-vintage t-shirts

There's a lot of talk about current shirts- the big, chunky 100% cotton shirts generally shunned by shirties- as being "low quality", or otherwise the garment of choice for lieutenants of Satan. I figured that a combination of nostalgia and the good-feeling softness/stretchiness of the cla...

1977 Andy Gibb... and stuff

My Andy Gibb shirt is under the hammer right now. Still time on Teenage Head, Sinead O'Connor, Tragically Hip and Def Leppard. Possible bargoons for yourself or the store... http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180443009293&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT" onclick="window.op...

Fall of the Polycotton Empire

Alas, I looked at the balance sheet, blanched, realized this was going to be more than I expected it to be, and have elected to get out of this entertaining but exhausting racket. Most of my big-ish items are up on auction, to take advantage of the Xmas rush, and I might put one or two more up tomor...

When somebody else has your piece of merch

Picked up a lovely Portishead shirt, and was chuffed with its potentially-lucrative scarcity- but as is often the case, there's more than one of these in the thrift shops and someone in Ontario has another exact copy. For considerably less than I was going to sell it. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI...

Polycotton Empire is live!!!!

I just opened my own eBay t-shirt store, and christened it Polycotton Empire. Huzzah! The link is here: http://stores.shop.ebay.ca/Polycotton-Empire__W0QQ_armrsZ1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; There would be more items, but my borrowed camera ran out of batteries (yep, I'm...

Frankie Goes to Hollywood camouflage bootleg

A nice surprise from Value Village: a surprisingly creative Frankie Goes to Hollywood boot printed on a camouflage shirt. Wouldn't be much without that touch (and in true bootleg fashion, the gimmick is only marginally connected to what's actually printed on the shirt) but it's unusual and a nice su...

Wrestlemania 2 bootleg

Pristine, deadstock, and hipster-friendly measurements of 17" pit-to-pit. But, sadly, a bootleg- and, up close, an obvious one, with a no-name made-in-Canada tag. How should I price this? Is it worth much, or just a little?
