Re: Vintage Bates Motorcycle Racing Jacket

Yeah, funny to see them selling things on ebay. It was a steal at a local yard sale for $20 that's for sure. I was so excited that I forgot to ask the guy any info about it. However, I do know that it was his old racing jacket and based on his age, it had to be late 50s or early 60s. Maybe I should ...

Vintage Bates Motorcycle Racing Jacket

Hi all,

I picked this a few weekends ago and just wanted to share it on here. In researching it, I believe it's from the 60s, but I don't have much of a clue on the value. The ones I've seen range from $300 to $1,100 depending on style and condition. Any thoughts?

Re: Old Smoke

Thanks Johnny. I actually don't have a dryer and have always feared throwing vintage t's in one. Just keep it on low I guess and watch it close? I've aired them out for the past week or so and that seems to have really helped on the t's, but not the jacket. I'll try that freezer trick and let you kn...

Old Smoke

Hey All, I pulled a couple shirts and a sweet 60s motorcycle racing jacket last weekend at a yard sale. Problem is, everything has that old smoke odor. Is this something I should try to get out by washing, etc? Or should I just list the items and say that they smell like old smoke? I've been trying ...

Re: Holoubek Harley

Awesome, yeah after doing the measurements I was a bit more convinced. An auction would be fun. I'll post back and we'll see what it fetches. Thanks as always Jimmy!

The pit to pit iss 18.5"

I know that they used to make shirts smaller back in the day. Anywhere that charts measurements through the decades or something like that?

Holoubek Harley

Hi All, I picked up a Harley shirt recently that's a Holoubek. It's in amazing shape, which makes me question whether or not it's vintage. The screen print says 1982, but I'm still not convinced. I did pick a for sure 1970s Harley shirt from the same batch, so I'm hoping this is vintage too. Anyone ...
