Re: Screen Stars/Jerzees Halloween Prints

I only do 10-20 auctions a week, only on Sundays and only for things that I'm fairly certain will incur a bidding war. I'm not always right, but for the most part everything else goes up as buy it now. We've always got about 2,000 shirts for sale at any given time and post 100+ new ones every week ...

Re: Screen Stars/Jerzees Halloween Prints

The art print one isn't worth much I wouldn't think, it looks like it's an iron on so that's a strike against it, so unless there's a huge market for that particular artist I wouldn't say it'd be that valuable. It's also the later Jerzees tag and heavyweight is always less desirable than the regular ...

Re: Sturgis SD Black Hills Rally 1994 3d Emblem

$30, maybe $40 if you sit on it for a while. 3D Emblem tag alone generally doesn't help much unless it's Harley or a great unique print, this one is okay and should be easy to sell but I don't think it's high dollar or would incur a bidding war. I'd say you're best off doing buy it now at $40 or go ...

Re: Dry Rot

Actually you know what, I misspoke, I meant that it was the Hanes red white and blue tag, but it was actually a 100% cotton version. Do we have anyone that has had it happen to a 50/50 shirt? Could be close to nailing down this sucker once and for all if it's just happening to nothing but black and ...

Re: Dry Rot

That could be possible, it would make sense if it was a different formula or something. I guess it's hard to pin down the exact years that seem to be affected but I know I got some of the same ones that he knew were dry rotted and they were New Kids on the Block shirts from probably 1990-92 so that ...

Re: Dry Rot

I heard from one of my suppliers this week that had to dump about 600 black deadstock concert tees because they were all dry rotted, he's saying that there's some kind of dye/chemical on black tees specifically that needs to be washed off. It comes off naturally in the first couple of washes ...

Re: Dry Rot

After years of fearing this happening to me and believing that like dry land, it could be a myth, the vintage t-shirt dry rot hit me last night. I got some NOS black 100% Cotton New Kids on the Block shirts. We threw them through the dryer first like we always do for anything new we bring in the ...

Re: Final Value Fee on Shipping!?

I think you may be getting hosed partially because you're in Canada. I haven't double-checked lately but if I remember correctly the final value fee is assessed based on what you charge to ship domestically. With big shipments like that it's obviously tougher to bake the cost into the price or eat ...

Bootleg Mickey & Minnie Mouse FILA & Gucci Hip Hop T-Shirt

I feel like I've seen one of these somewhere before for sale but I can't recall where. This obviously would be lightning rod for VERO violations on eBay so I know it wouldn't go up there. Was thinking about putting it up here just for curio value alone but wasn't sure what kind of price to put it at ...

Walt Disney World Tag

I feel like I've seen this tag on some older Disney shirts possibly but I'm not positive. Trying to age this sweatshirt, I know this particular logo was used for a long time from the 70s to the 90s. The RN number indicates it could theoretically be somewhat early in that range but I wasn't sure. The ...

Re: Warning: Offensive T-Shirt. How to Market/Worth?

I think that's probably a bit harsh. Sure, it's not the best shirt in the world, but it's certainly not junk. I can pretty much guarantee that there's a market for something like this one. I usually sell around 300 vintage tees every month and I'd say at least 20% of those are shirts that wouldn't ...

Sizing Vintage Sweaters/Sweatshirts

Hey, I've been picking up some vintage 80s sweatshirts/sweaters/crewneck type things to sell. But I'm wondering if anyone could offer some advice about sizing of these things. Whenever I list t-shirts I always list the original tag, measurements and the approximation of what the fit is in modern ...

Re: Screen Stars Polo?

I don't think they were all that highly produced but I run across them fairly often in my travels. But since it's just a generic solid colored polo and not branded with Lacoste, Nicklaus, etc, I wouldn't think it would command too much. Couldn't hurt to ask $15-20 and see if anyone bites but I don't ...

Re: To ship internationally or not to ship internationally

I wouldn't exclude Asia if I were you, I'd say at least 30% of my business comes from Malaysia & Thailand. While there are quite a few problem buyers from those countries, there are also tons of legit buyers that have tons of disposable income and buy thousands of shirts every month from various ...

Seen it a few times, but it's definitely less prominent than the other kinds of Artex tags.

Here's one I have from a late 80s Cubs shirt, so I'd say that's probably a tag they used in between eras or something for a brief time

Re: So, what should I do if a package doesn't arrive?

I really don't think those rules are gospel. I've been putting international packages directly into any old mailbox for a couple years, we're talking many hundreds of packages and I've never had a problem or had one returned to me because I didn't follow their directions. I think they'd probably ...

Re: Los Angeles Olympics parody shirt

I think this is the one you're talking about. This dude recreates shirts from movies, so it's not true vintage but he does them pretty exact from how the shirts were in the movies. Val Kilmer wore this shirt in Real Genius.

Re: So, what should I do if a package doesn't arrive?

It's a gamble shipping any other method than Express which costs a fortune and even then I don't find the tracking to be terribly accurate and most times it doesn't even update to indicated that it was delivered when it actually was, thus negating the reason for tracking in the first place. In any ...

Re: So, what should I do if a package doesn't arrive?

There's a bunch of third party insurance companies that will insure things cheaper than USPS and even insure things that USPS won't, like first class international for instance. There's U-Pic, Shipsurance and the one I use is called ShipSaver and I think is still technically Shipsurance but I think ...
