Original 1992 Sonic Youth Dirty long sleeve, Top Heavy XL, made in Australia. I’m the original owner and received it while working at Capitol Records in the early ’90s.
This exact long-sleeve design is pictured with the 1992 Australian Dirty Box, limited to 200 copies, via Discogs -
https://www.discogs.com/release/9467222 ... -Dirty-Box. I don’t remember the specific circumstances of receiving it, so I can’t confirm whether mine came out of one of the box sets or in what manner it was distributed. There was lots of industry sharing of promotional items back then.
Excellent condition, 23" pit to pit, 28.5" length. I haven’t been able to find another long-sleeve example or reliable sold comps, but it definitely seems rare. Any thoughts on current value?

This is very cool. I checked in with the gent from the sonic youth archive, he estimates about $1500, and sent this:
The “pizza box” reference associated with Sonic Youth usually points to the rare limited-edition box sets or specialized packaging (like the Dirty Box or custom promo mailers) rather than a standard official release, though fans sometimes misremember the rare 1992 Australian orange vinyl release of Dirty (which actually came in a printed cloth bag limited to 1,000 copies) or confuse it with oversized mailers and other band promo packages. Key Facts on Sonic Youth’s Dirty Australian Release:
Release Year: 1992
Format: Double LP on orange-colored vinyl
Special Packaging: Often came in a cream-colored printed cloth bag rather than a box
Rarity: Limited to 1,000 copies for an Australian tour edition

Thanks so much for the response, this is helpful.
I've attached a photo from the Discogs listing showing this exact long-sleeve shirt that came with the Dirty box package in pizza like box, which was a 2-LP orange vinyl limited 200 copies release in Australia. I can’t confirm that my particular shirt came from one of those boxes, only that it’s the same shirt pictured with it.
I also heard back from Weber Auction in Japan, who specializes in vintage T-shirts, and they estimated mine at ¥300,000–¥500,000 (~$1900-$3100) at auction. Interesting to get a couple of different perspectives, thanks again!

Very cool. Def sell as a lot I think. Go with Weber if they can guarantee a $1900 min.
