What's up with this Sneakers shirt?

Picked up a Sneakers tank today. Took it home and realized it was sewn up in the front a bit. Anyone seen this kinda thing before? I figured maybe it was a halfassed way to make the shirt fit tighter. It's a shame because otherwise this shirt is mint. Would you remove the stitches?

It's hard for me to tell from the pictures, but I'm thinking it's a repair on a tear or hole. It's just a couple of inches long?

Yeah around 2". There are holes on the inside, but I don't know why they'd sew it. They're very very small.

It happens sometimes when the garment is being constructed. The sewers are moving so fast that a section of the t-shirt gets caught and stitched together that shouldn't be. It's purely human error during the manufacturing of the t-shirt.
