so 18" chest, could be 70s. That said, even if it is, likely fan made / boot, not a TON of value.

What details make you think it could be a 70s blank? Is it the collar construction, the fit, the fabric, or something else?

It's hard to say from here, is the bottom hem single stitch? the raw neckline is one indication.

A few people on Reddit suggested that the single stitch hem doesn’t necessarily indicate age and that it could be a later reproduction. I'm really confused right now.

That's why I'm saying "possibly" but in the 70s, DS collars check out - DS bottom hem, less common.
But again, it's a boot, even if a 70s blank, it could have been printed on in modern times, there's not a ton of value here even if it truly is from the 70s...unless you got it from the OG owner who has a photo of them wearing it - and even THEN it's probably a $100-200 piece...so not sure it's worth stressing about.
