Which way a zipper zips

I have a few 80's Leather Jackets that definitely look like mens, but they zip up from the opposite side (left). Were mens jackets made that way, or are these jackets manly looking womens outerwear? Or possibly jackets for lefties? Anybody know? They were both made in Korea.
