Fact: Less Than Zero is based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. Ellis reportedly disliked the film expressing that it wasn’t closely scripted to his novel. He also felt that it was miscast with one of the exceptions being Downey Jr. who played a drug addict.
