Ahhhh. The tag is more likeky 80s. Thats the thing with Heat Transfer prints - even though it was likely manufactured in the 70s - they were sometimes made to order in a t shirt shop so it got printed years after it was made.

With it being a transfer and being yellow...two things that Ive always found hurts the value of tees - with a lot of luck you might get $40?

Obviously this was posted long ago, but that shirt has some very cool stuff about it. There's a lot going on in and around that photo. The pic is almost definitely from a concert on June 5, 1971 at the Berlin Sportpalast. Check out the lighting in the arena and how they incorporated it into the Yes logo for the transfer.

The Yes Album, the first Yes album to have Steve Howe on it, was released a few months before in February. Steve Howe is playing his main guitar, a Gibson ES-175, and it's on basically all of the classic albums. It's probably on everything they've done. He still plays it in studio and live today.

A couple of months later in August Yes would fire Tony Kaye, the original keyboardist, and replace him with Rick Wakeman.

The other band on the bill was Pink Floyd, who were gonna release Meddle a couple of months later in October. It's not clear who was the opener.

Just to add something weird to the mix, the stadium they were playing in was one of the Nazi's main arenas for rallies and was torn down a few years later in 1973.

Awesome. Love this kind of stuff. "The History Behind Vintage T-Shirts" should be a Netflix show.

No, that is not a photo from a concert in Berlin. This photo is definitely from when YES played London's Crystal Palace Bowl on September 2, 1972. This was Alan White's first gig with YES as their drummer. You can see him in the photo in the back.
