1970s Billy Joel Raglan

Post by caseystrawberry »

There is no copyright date and the sleeves were unfortunately cut off at some point..AND the tag is missing. The fabric is very very thin and soft, likely 5050, it comes from a lady who seemed like a very inexperienced seller, just getting rid of things in her house, who said she got this shirt "many years ago" and "unfortunately it's not in great shape anymore".

Anyone know anything? Real? Year? That is a graphic of Billy Joel in the 70s, and Ive seen a similar graphic like this, but most say 1976 in big letters at the bottom, so I'm at a loss.

Its real. Looks like December 1978. The condition doesnt help....but Billys tees rarely do well....although...a 70s one recently fetched a few hundred and it send shockwaves through the community.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jimmy. I wonder why there is no copyright date anywhere on the shirt, or really most of the BJ shirts I've seen. Any idea?

Not sure. Copyrights are an enigma. Appear and dont appear on the same print sometimes - even though both are true vintage. Some licensed tees never had them. Check this:
