Hello everyone, I recently bought a 1997 WWF Austin 3:16 shirt and I noticed the black dye gives residue on my skin only when it’s caused by sweat. I washed it before wearing and washed it again after wearing but the residue still gets on my skin. Is there any way to prevent this and if I should be concerned?
There isn’t any sign of dry rot and it’s in good condition.
Re: Help! Black residue from shirt
That's bizarre. Soak it in water and see if the water turns a color. If it was deadstock maybe there's some residual dye? But if you've already washed it that seems odd.
Otherwise, it could be mildly rotted, and the dust is coming off when you sweat.
