I've seen this tag on lots of shirt with 70s copyright dates on the print, so i would go with 70s.

I got the above tag inquiry through email and coincidentally just received another Hanes question:

Hey there.

Recently, I purchased a similar-looking vintage KISS t-shirt(see attachment for the design) off eBay and when it was shipped to my house, I realised the tag wasn't removed. In fact, it reads HANES 100% Cotton Made in U.S.A. I've checked it against the Vintage 103 : The Brands guide (http://www.defunkd.com/blog.vintageafic ... d-gallery/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and was surprised it wasn't on the list of brands in the '80s or the 90s'.

The closest I could get was the HANES Poly-Cotton XL 46-48, fourth from left, first row. Does this mean I've purchased a reproduction of the actual t-shirt and not the original vintage one? Or did I purchased, a lack of a better term, a 'reissue' of the t-shirt?

Thanks.

Cheers!

The Hanes list at redcloud is a lot more extensive as far as Hanes goes - the tag at the bottom left reads 100% cotton made in the USA. But the tag on our guide that you refer to also had a few versions, where "poly-cotton" was written sometimes it read "100% cotton".

If that still doesn't answer your question please post a photo of the tag.

Thanks

JJ

Here's the tag he spoke of - classic 80s Hanes tag, which specified different types of fabric along the blue stripe - "poly-cotton" or in this case "100% cotton".

I've seen that hanes tag on a 1992 Toronto Blue Jays world series tee as well.
Have vintage Elvis tees? Let me know!

Yeah they always spill in to other decades because of overstock. Vintage counterfeiters still manage to get their hands on huge quantities of deadstock vintage blanks.

Any info on this Hanes tag? I'm guessing 70's? When did 75/25% shirts first appear?
