Vintage Star Trek Trekkie Live Long Spock T-Shirt

Post by kagarno »

Having a hard time identifying and dating this tee. Front is the Spock image and the back is Trekkie. Basic made is the USA 100% cotton tag. Anyone have any ideas on what it might be worth?

Cool one. So RN 13765 is FOTL. Basically, before they started branding Screen Stars in 1980, the tags were generic. So it could be from the late 70s..that said - the blanks could have been used into the 80s. But I wouldn't put you in vintage prison for saying it's a 1970s tee.

Not sure if your tee is official Star Trek merch, seems like a bootleg, but don't think it matters value-wise. In fact, it probably makes it more interesting.

Star Trek tees, for years, were like Star Wars tees, super undervalued. Star Wars tees have picked up steam and I think Trek ones are turning the corner - I'm seeing a handful of them in the past eBay listings with decent value (the AOPs have the most, but even 80s tees are doing pretty well.

I'd say in the $150-200 range, 5 years ago I would have said $50.

I hope this tee lives long and you eventually prosper.
