HUGE concert/Music T-shirt inheritance.

Post by Jsidney »

Hello! I am writing because I recently inherited a HUGE concert and music shirt collection. My father introduced me to my love of music and concerts. He saved almost every tour shirt from every concert he had went to, starting from the 70's or early 80's and up until his last few shows before he passed this year. I have followed in his footsteps, attend numerous shows each year with my kids and have a good size collection of shirts that I wear and intend to pass to my children. That being said, I unfortunately can not fit into any of his shirts, most being in the small, medium and large range. He has tons of authentic shirts purchased inside the venues and some killer bootleg shirts he would scoop up in the parking lots after the show. I am talking probably 1000 shirts or more. He was very eclectic and loved wide ranges of music. He has shirts ranging from anything heavy metal to yacht rock to rap and r&b to punk and everything in between. My wife and I work full time and I do not have the time, knowledge or know how to price and sell everything. I know there are plenty of shirts that are extremely hard to find or sought after and I'm sure probably some that you see every day. I believe I have 4 large rolling totes full to the top of shirts. He kept the ones he wore in his rotation in his closet and stored the majority in totes inside his residence, not in a storage shed, not the garage or out in the elements. He took pride in his shirts and though some show more wear than others, most are in great shape. It is hard for me to let them go but I hate thinking they will be sitting in these totes locked away and not being seen and appreciated. I would love to pass these awesome shirts on to a fellow music lover that would wear them proudly! I contacted defunkd and I am waiting to hear back from them but I thought I would post here and see if anyone had any thoughts on where to go with them also. I appreciate whoever reads this for listening to my rambling and any feedback given in advance.
