Hi I have two small questions about dry rotted tees
If you wash a shirt starts to become dry rot, once washed the dry rot doesn't progress anymore? We don't fix it, OK but does the washing stop the progression?
Can a dry rot t-shirt be kept with other non-dry rot t-shirt? Is there a risk of contagion?
Thank you
Re: Question about dry rot
Yes, washing at least neutralizes the acid, and it won't get any worse beyond that point. If you catch it early enough damage might be minimal.
If the shirt's pH is in the dry rot zone, and you stack it on another shirt that isn't dry rot, perhaps there's a chance that, if they make contact, it could have an mild impact on the fibers that are touching? More likely if it was really humid, possibly? It's something that Wax & Threads was looking into, actually.
But once you wash it, it would have no effect on anything else it's stored with.
