Boxing Taz Vintage looney tunes on Tultex
G'day all, I recently picked up a looney tunes on a tutlex, says 1993 licenced but is double stitched? And does the tag look a bit off? I've just realised the licencing says "changes" so I'm presuming it's a fake as it's supposed to be on a changes tag? Any help is much much appreciated!
Re: Vintage looney tunes on Tultex
Licensing and actual date it was printing can vary - tag looks okay - and Changes likely used Tultex blanks, there's several legit explainations as to why the changes tag wasn't swapped.
Taz is a huge target, many fakes of various designs, but haven't spotted this among the fakes.

Legend thanks mate! Is the double stitch fine though? And after looking at a few Tultex tags, the L having no gap between the T isn't normal, unless the colouring has leaked a little bit. Many thanks though
Re: Boxing Taz Vintage looney tunes on Tultex
I found other taz boxing ones with single and double.
Here's another double that matches yours:
ebay.com/itm/336323167641
The fake WB tees from Thailand are on single-stitch tees, so this Tultex is DS, kinda helps to authenticate it.
That said, scroll through eBay listings for "Black Vintage Tultex t-shirts", and you'll see there's a healthy amount that are DS.
Attached are two tags from our Database - the top one shows similar wear to yours - but yeah, still a connection with the L and T. Think that could be explained by a mishap while it was being produced.
But there are plenty of organic variances - look at the tag below it - the O in cotton is more of a circle than an egg.
BUT if anyone has spotted a fake version of this Tultex tag let me know. We do have one on our radar but haven't confirmed it - but even that one has the line between the L and T.

Re: Boxing Taz Vintage looney tunes on Tultex
I believe the tag might have bled through as the red around the cotton has bled as well. The shirt is defiantly old though with fade and a few holes. I didnt buy this cheap, it was $70AUD, just didn't want to spend this much and it be a fake. But thanks so much for your help jimmy, Its much appreciated.

Here's an example of another Tultex tag with the bleed between the letters. It's 100% legit.Void_vintage wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 7:52 pm I believe the tag might have bled through as the red around the cotton has bled as well.
