does this variant really comes with a double stitched hem and sleeves? also do you think this European variant is altered or it really does have side seam?

Yes, Europe was ahead of the curve with DS, even in the 80s. Gut says it's fine, but can't really see the print, would always check that - and the print would have to be different to be called a variant.
