the oddest winterland tag

Post by vices96 »

here is this winterland tag that i’ve never seen before except on this specific shirt with this specific graphic. it’s a 93 urban chaos biohazard shirt. it’s the only shirt i’ve seen printed on this tag as there are others of this graphic on this tag. oddly enough the shirt is also double stitched, so i question whether it’s correct or a really old fake.

That is bizarre, I just checked our database and couldn't find one like it:

I was able to find other Winterland tags attached in the same manner yours is.

From what little I can see of the print - it does look like it could be a DTG print - as they tend to chip with age:

But for a counterfeiter to go through all the trouble a completely botch the effort to make the tag look convincing is odd too.

i was reading an post on here about how there used to be a lot of fakes on ebay in 2007 from some place in california. i just find it odd that a shirt from 93 is double stitched? i thought that wasn’t until much later

So yeah, the 2007 era, they weren't using fake tags, aside from a few very terrible Screen Stars ones.

What they were doing then was finding a vintage cut blank, and removing the tag entirely.

As for double stitch, euro tees were using that construction in the 80s.

Here's an article that clears up some of the s/d stitch confusion.
