Also you should ask for a photo showing where/how the tag is attached.

I'm not super well versed in sweats and hoodies, so the immediate question that comes to mind - did SSB have hoodies?

the prob is there are modern ones with the 1992 copyright, and I'm not fully sure they even existed in that era.

This is a modern counterfeit, and the tag is clearly fake.

I'm not so sure it's fake though, if you take a look through here:

You'll see lots of slight variances with the tag.

I do agree - everything about it - is thicker, but that could be a registration and printing issue.

Are you aware of fakes of this particular tag circulating? We haven't caught wind of any yet, which is kinda weird why no one has done it - so we are definitely open to exposing it if we can 100% determine it's not legit and find other examples out there!

I noticed the character spacing on the back of the label does look like that, but the font is bolder. Alright, I retract my earlier opinion.
