Changes Tag Dennis Rodman AOP

Post by aaronlrv »

Hey everyone,
Looking for some second opinions on this tee I recently bought. I’ve compared the seller’s photos with my own reference tags and found a few red flags:

Tag Alignment – On the seller’s tag, the “KNA” letters in the “Preshrunk – Made in USA – 100% Cotton” line are aligned incorrectly. In my authentic examples, the KNA letters are on a slight slant like /, but hers are aligned straight.

Size Tag Thickness – The “XL” on her size tag is much bolder and larger compared to the more subtle sizing font I’ve seen on legit examples. Although I have seen 1 or 2 tags with the bolder sizing so this is debatable

None of these details were disclosed during the sale. Based on my research, I believe this could potentially be a fake — but before I move forward with a refund request, I’d love to get confirmation from the community.

What do you all think?

When I look at the tag, the logo appears to be thicker. But that could happen during the printing of the gold print on the tag.

We've yet to archive a fake Changes tag, but wouldn't be surprising if one exists.

I'm assuming these are screenshots from the auction and you don't have the tee? Because none of the photos are great and it's hard to do our thing based on them.

If you look through here,

https://www.defunkd.com/brand/changes/

specifically here, there's one with the similar KNA alignnement:

https://www.defunkd.com/product/MV13465 ... r-t-shirt/

Anyone else?

Hello, I am ready to help, but I want you to re-upload the original photo because I can't check the screenshot.

Hey I appreciate both of you, Yeah it’s at my sorting warehouse which is in the USA and I’m not local there so it’ll take like a month or two to come before I got the item so I’m unable to post handheld photos if there’s anything that I can do to make the process easier and happy to do it but right now all I have is the auction pictures

I've attatched the original photos here, But somehow i reversed image the photos on whatnot and it linked to an ebay listing with all the original photos. The seller confirmed that these photos are hers but I don't know. Regardless these photos match up so go ahead

Now that I'm noticing the RN numbers on the top and bottom tag match, RN 67585, to me it seems illogical that a counterfeiter would go through the extra trouble to create an additional tag, both matching Bowe Industries, which owned Changes and also throw in a CA number. They don't usually go through so much trouble lol.

Lucas, what do you think of the print?

I think the print is good when I see it in the picture, unfortunately I can't touch it. But I don't think this is a genuine vintage product but a new product / new fake item that is also widely released in Thailand. The tag is also visible, I think it's fake

Sorry 🙏

What makes you believe that? When I looked up the same pictures on Ebay I saw a listing from a store that just sells fakes for 40$ which is a major red flag, Probably gonna ask my sorting warehouse to send me actual pictures of the tag so that I can reconfirm before anything

I just stumbled on this image - taken from a depop seller with all fake tags, many of which are new variations - so my theory about the double tag, I guess they will make extra work for themselves! And it was a Rodman tee (but not the same design)

Really interesting how good fakes are tbh, I just got pictures back of the print from my sorting warehouse and I've attatched it here:

Front - https://prnt.sc/vZbK7Qq6BObk
Back - https://prnt.sc/Hb5bU6aIAGjF
Tag 1 - https://prnt.sc/-rD7bOzcnvIY
Tag 2 - https://prnt.sc/24UB6buLyS61

Pretty sure this is fake just based off of the way the print looks, or what's your thoughts cause it might be the camera as well?

After I investigated and asked my team, this is not an original from the 90s, but a new bootleg product that was mass-produced in Thailand. The tags are also fake, and some were released with other tags. I'm sorry to say this is not an original item.

Man no worries thank you, I wouldn't have posted it here if I didn't believe for it to be fake at least a little bit.

Could you let me know what other fake changes tags are being mass produced rn so I could have a look? Maybe we could create a thread on here with my one as well

Hi,
The latest weeks, shirts with this tag have started to flood a platform in Europe. Always offered by the usual suspects, whose whole inventory are are reprints made in Thailand, described as “vintage retro style t shirts”.

Thank you. So the biggest red flag appears to be a thicker Changes logo - where some details with the cursive styling are lost - along with a vertically aligned K.N.A. (Although there are legit Changes tags with this too)

Also, the size L, XL is way too thick.
