I came across a rare All Sport body

Post by shin7777 »

T-shirt of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant — the front print says Unledded and the back print says No Quarter USA 1995.

What’s interesting is that the body and the sleeves are in slightly different colors or fabrics. I’ve seen another version with the same print where this difference didn’t exist.

So I’m wondering — why would there be a version with the same print but with a body/sleeve contrast?
Could it be that the shirt was originally the same color, but after 30 years only the body has faded?

For reference, I’ve never seen this kind of variation on Fruit of the Loom bodies.

That's bizarre. LOL. Especially since it's deadstock. I have seen the occasional worn tee that seems to have a slightly different set of arms.

Off the top of my head, a sewing error at the t-shirt production level? especially since the strip that the tag sits under is also black.

The base color is blue?

Maybe the colors were so close in a dimly lit warehouse, no one noticed the difference. Would have taken place long before the print actually went on.

And no way only the body faded - I think that inner black strip is more evidence of a sewing mishap.

That's all I got, ha.

Anyone else?

Thanks a lot for your insight!
Yeah, that makes sense — especially the point about the sewing error at the production level. I hadn’t thought about the inner black strip being evidence, but that’s a really good observation.

The base color is closer to navy rather than blue, so your theory about mismatched fabric pieces in production sounds even more plausible. The idea of it happening in a dimly lit warehouse also makes sense.

I agree, it seems unlikely that only the body would have faded that much over time. Really appreciate your input — let’s see if anyone else has come across something similar!

The only time I’ve seen this someone took a shirt with the sleeves cut off and had sleeves sewn back on
