Sonic youth dirty 92
Please check legit or not ..condition like new..armpit 22 lenght 29,5 inches
Re: Sonic youth dirty 92
Gonna say highly suss at this point. This doesn't match the fake we covered of this here:
https://www.instagram.com/p/DIZFRRhp-JS/
But as stated in that post, there are many fake variants.
This one specifically when I review the sleeve graphics, and the copyright area, they are off. So didn't need to go much further than that, anyone else?
Also look how the N on yours, on the left front, is more visible than on the true print.
Anyone else?

> “If you’re certain it’s fake, then there should be clear side-by-side evidence against an authentic reference. Just saying ‘based on what I’m seeing’ but still asking for other opinions doesn’t sound conclusive. This tee has every hallmark of a 90s original — Fruit of the Loom Made in USA tag, single stitch, Brockum license 1992, sleeve print, and natural plastisol cracking. I picked it up deadstock back in 2012, long before the hype when nobody was faking Sonic Youth tees in this kind of detail. Unless there’s concrete proof otherwise, it’s far more reasonable to consider it original.”
Re: Sonic youth dirty 92
It's not conclusive (even clearly stated in my signature), that's why I'm giving you feedback and asking other people to chime in. The inventory of fakes on these are huge, so with these I approach all with skepticism. At the moment, I don't have the time to do a complete deep dive into potential slight variations as being legit. This is a free service, please remember that.
But if you compare the armprint to the one in the link I posted, you'll see they are different - do you not agree with this? Yours is very thick, and the standard missing segments of those lines above and below aren't fully present. Further, the bottom of the 'd' is straight and missing the stylizing of the text on the ones I've seen - please see the link again, third slide specifically.
Perhaps this is due to a thicker application of print during production, perhaps there are other legit versions with this, I'm not sure.
Anyone else want to chime in?

I'm handing this one over to Lucas, he's my go-to for these t-shirts and helped us co-ordinate the post we did on IG, so he'll take care of you, if you provide what he's asking!

Re: Sonic youth dirty 92
Nowadays the market is flooded with bootlegs and reprints on vintage blanks, so people often get confused. But back in the late 80s and early 90s, printers used a variety of techniques. Not every plastisol print was thick and glossy – many were pulled thin, giving that slightly rough surface instead of a heavy layer.
On this piece you can clearly see the halftone details, like on the bunny ears – that’s classic screen printing. What you’re looking at is just a thinner plastisol application, which was very common on authentic band tees of the era.Lucas, you really looked at the bunny's ears, and you said it was coming in print..please make sure I'm holding the shirt since 1998..

If you are sure and correct, why are you asking in this forum? This is a public place where everyone can express their opinions freely. If you don't accept your goods being labeled fake, please don't ask in this forum.

I don't know who you are, I don't care when you started buying vintage clothes, what is clear is that if you ask something in this forum whose authenticity is questionable, it is clearly detrimental to you because this forum is open to the public, if you feel that your knowledge is above ours, why are you asking here?Lucasxavier wrote: ↑Tue Sep 23, 2025 12:09 am If you are sure and correct, why are you asking in this forum?
