A History Lesson & A Judge Hood

History lesson: digital imaging has a great back story. Were you aware that the first megapixel sensor dated all the way back to the paleolithic era of 1986? Probably not. I’m guessing quite a few of you weren’t born then. It’s ok, I was only 7. I missed all the good shit too. Yes, 1986. The first megapixel sensor could capture 1.5 Megapixels. Granted, the sensor was probably the size of a modern desktop computer … The first widely available digital camera was invented by Kodak 5 years later. They had managed to squeeze the sensor size down, as well as the form factor. This device was aimed at photo journalists and hobbyists. It was the first DSLR camera available on the market, the DCS 100. At this point, they are pretty big collector items. In fact, I can’t even find any on ebay currently, the closest I could find was a Nikon F3s mounted on a Kodak “computer.” Digital cameras would improve significantly over the years; a lot of progress has been made in the world of digital photo technology in the last 24 years.

Of course, it does not appear that wolfsblood718 took advantage of ANY of these improvements when taking pictures of this Judge hood. It’s a shame too because this is a great hood.

In 1986 I was 12, had already seen KISS (with makeup), gone through my phases of being way into Quiet Riot & The Police and I was about 2 years from seeing Murphys Law.
