I almost filed this under “Bands Ivee never actually heard” but a couple years ago I made a concious effort to try to get into this band. I know im gonna probably catch a bunch of shit but it didnt catch with me. I know thi sband has a ton of super fans but maybe it was one of those things like the records dont capture quite right? I have a good friend who recently got into their records and I respect his opinion so I havent given up yet. If you are one of those super fans then knr78 has the shirt for you!
I saw them live and they were good so I figured that I would like their recorded materiaI but I just couldn’t get into it.
don’t feel too bad, unlike against the wall or outspoken, i always thought this band was one of those which straddled that murky ground between hardcore and the warped tour 90’s pop-punk world, and i think most of the super-fans came from the latter group.
alot of the ”super fans” most def did not come from the pop punk world , just sayin
I love Avail recorded but growing up close to Richmond and seeing them in their hometown definitely helps. Might not like them if I just heard them today, but if you get the chance to see them in Richmond, I can promise you’ll see kids go insane and smiling from ear to ear the whole time. So tight.
Jay — Check that “Live at the Kings Head Inn” 10″. Captures the live energy pretty well.
These guys were so hyped around ’96 and rightfully so. Great band.
