![[PLEASE READ!] 🛑 In the past few years, this image has appeared on IG, with a dire warning alluding to the idea that these are a new wave of counterfeit tags.
There's a Reddit thread devoted to this image and the OP claims they are "the next tag that is getting mass-produced in Malaysia."
Another user comments, "They are starting to get really good."
Here's the thing, though: These appear to be real. The quality of the photo isn't great, and I can't get a great view of the logo, but from what I can see, everything checks out.
They definitely don't match the Brockum fake that's been circulating for year.
They are likely an unused roll of actual Brockum tags from the 1990s.
Given the age of the photo and the accuracy of this tag, it's highly unlikely that these are fake.
Granted, in the wrong hands, they could still be used for evil if applied to bootleg t-shirts.
But this is why you shouldn't solely rely on the tag to authenticate. We know that counterfeiters swap in authentic tags.
We've been looking into this image for a while now. It first appeared about four years ago.
We haven't been able to find the original source of the image. If you happen to have any leads, please DM us, and we'll continue to investigate.
