Sick Of It All Demo & Sticker UPDATE

Please take heed. One of our “faithful” readers has some more info on this tape:

Vintage Sick Of It All Demo & Sticker UPDATE tee

so about that demo, im pretty sure i asked that guy like 6 months ago or so about the legitimacy of that demo. pretty sure the tape is just a recent dub, and the insert is og. i might be imagining this, but if youre actually inclined, maybe take a boo.

i asked him about the neg yout tape as well, because again the cardstock looks real, but the tape looks too recent. on this occasion he said its an original tape. i cant help but wonder. esp since they have been on the block without getting scooped. the hounds wouldve been all over the ny demo for sure, and how can anyone pass up on the soia, even for a mere 10 bones.

So there you have it. Take caution. That TDK tape does look a little too fresh …

ps. We’re definitely “persons just like you” and we make mistakes all the time. If you spot us posting auctions as legitimate that may be fake, PLEASE don’t hesitate to call us out. We appreciate that.

pps. Shout out to the reader who sent us this tip.

I don’t know what TDK tapes look like now, but that TDK tape is exactly the same kind that I used to make mixes on when I was in middle school (about the same time this demo came out). That doesn’t make this legit, but that style tape has def been around since the late 80’s.

pretty sure this guy was selling this tape as a “fan club edition” a few months back, in the description stating it wasnt an original, price was the same, got listed a few times, no one bought it.

I am with dsteve on this one, same seller, was selling these as fan club edition a month or two ago, listed it a few times and didn’t sell.

I have also seen this seller sell this tape as a “fan club edition” before. Some time ago an original was sold on eBay, that one had an orange cover.

I gotta say that that TDK tape looks the same as the ones I used to steal in the early-mid ’90s to tape all the great hardcore I could get my hands on, I don’t know if the tapes looked the same in the ’80s. I’d say no, because I used to take my dad’s old tapes (TDKs as well) from the mid-late ’80s and dub ’em with better shit, but then again, I wasn’t around the tape scene then and Toby was so who am I.

I used to dub tapes on TDKs just like that “around” the time of that demo, can’t be too sure if it was 86 – 87 kinda time, or more towards the end of the 80’s, but I for sure have TDK tapes like that still that I dubbed in the 80s

    Looks like it is from 92 – 97 – http://vintagecassettes.com/tdk/tdk_files/tdk_year/tdk_92u.htm
You can see the “A” and the symbol next to the TDK
